Teodora chef Giancarlo Quadalti and his bride celebrated their City Hall wedding Thursday with a champagne lunch at Joe’s Shanghai so Monica -- just arrived from their hometown of Ravenna -- could taste the “Chinese ravioli.” Giancarlo insisted each guest at the big round table in the corner have their own steamer of crab-and-pork soupy buns, followed by scallion pancakes, lion’s head (“Chinese polpetti"), braised duck, fried noodles with pork and cabbage, salt baked shrimp, and a whole fried fish to dip in seaweed salt while downing an intense Amarone. The house sent red bean cake for good luck, then everyone trooped off for Gâteau St. Honoré and sparkling Bracchetto at Sant Ambroeus. The Quadaltis’ baby girl is due in just over a month.
